Sparse the pleasing of contemporary drone
If the sun is out then so the light is shown
And in the shades of gray assume the brighter of a day
A thistle blooms regardless in it’s own sweet time and way

Of a color like no other, catching eyes among the scrub
Ever delicate and wistful calling out in pleasured dub
A beauty by the roadside just a slight reply to dawn
But to wonder what is seeming to keep beaming ever on

…Palms and fingers prickle

Here together, this reclusive place
Silence glistens cupped of hand in paper lace
Placed here beside you...thinking, listening
Your spirit twists in wince of something faded
Possibly a dream that somehow fell into the sea unsated

…I know of these

Unsure of what is sought or found here
Someone special, purposeful resounds near
Right here beside you...thinking, listening
Unattained and thirsting...loosened secrets bursting
Falling from the skies there in your eyes

And in his hand she placed a tear
For all that could be ever dear
His own strength...thinking, listening
Fuel to take upon the journey...and friendship glistening
For love will never leave you empty

...And the biggest deception in life
Is the lie that we tell ourselves

Kathleen? (May I call you Kathleen?)

Do you know when I see a new post by you I literally say "ah..." aloud?

Before I read this, I put on some music too--

"Peer Gynt Suite No. 1: Prelude"

It was just the right tune for your gentle grace of pen.

And sheesh. I don't mean to embarrass you with my "gushing" but your talent with the written word just consistently makes me so happy, that I wanted to thank you. You even manage to the heavier moods with lightness.

So...um..thank you.

"I know of these..."  right in the middle tying it all together perfectly...and your knowledge of "these" shows in the gentleness of your words and heart, my friend.

I like serenity's choice of music
to go with your words...
she's wise, she is...

As for the ah's?  Goodness, no wonder the
wind moves, for the ahs come from the south
and the midwest...

all the way to you.
