One glass of champagne In a stove corner Drying out unplanned images Pinching between thumb and forefinger Before any value likely drops Staggering about the yard Winter mends the fence Like a childhood memory Thin wedding gown sobbing Passing away corn rows I believe banks of the deep Hide behind sheens of light While armed riders wound the earth Where ugly things collect in the eyes Pricking wrists…drawing blood Senseless shadows cast their ballots Gun metal signs, send pictures to go Dismal, nightmares spit dark secrets While a preacher builds condos in rows All painted white Balance enters town One glass of champagne Colors even consciousness Sporting morning through the trees to the right |

"While armed riders wound the earth Where ugly things collect in the eyes Pricking wrists...drawing blood" vivid imagery, Lee made me think of riders on the storm.... |
