A crow drops a grape to a fox below, an Aesop tale reveals what vixens know; cajole a birded friend about its plumage its beak releases a prize you may rummage... A crow escorts its master around a crow who'd talk without a sound; thoughts were instilled to catch a feathered treat or fatten its crop before one cooks its meat... But the crow graces many a high tension line like in "The Birds", a sentinel to man's decline; gregarious, competitive with the birds of the field on a scarecrow's arm, it examines a farmers yield.. Confused with blackbirds that escaped punctured pies? its wit and savvy inspired ancient Greeks, why oh why, Crows dropped their trophies to shrewder beasts will they be ever present at a vixen's feast? © Copyright 2004 ecrivan |

Crows, mysterious, but with so many different meanings in different cultures. A beautiful creature for a beautiful poem. Love, Margherita |
