Trapped between Venus and Mars,
heading towards the hot side,
too much carbon dioxide,
but no one seems to care
about the air.

Too much talk about terrorists,
economics, someone’s boobs
or religious views,
or who it was
that threw the first bullet,
and who it was
that missed the clues.

Meanwhile,
does anyone remember
the news and views,
or the warnings from Rio
on November 18, 1992?
Does anyone remember Kyoto?
Hint:
it isn't the name of an auto inport.

***

(Thanking David Suzuki
for this musing moment)

thanks for reading, Karilea
the above link gave us something really big to chew on, and yet? I don't think it was ever even discussed seriously in this country
and as for Kyoto, guess it would have hurt the oil revenues too much for us to discuss that one

and as we sit, the carbon dioxide level rises

another one everyone should read http://www.davidsuzuki.org/Climate_Change/Kyoto/FAQs.asp#US

"Finite" being the key word in it all, we deal with people who either don't give a hoot, or those who believe they are immortal...

You're running for political office, right?     I say that with tongue in cheek, as I am being pressured to run locally...

Karilea, LOL, are you seriously considering running for an office? How would you manage that time juggling act? LOL, I think you need to clone yourself, so you can do Pips, write a book, do a paying job AND be political.
(I'd bet that you play in the garden, too.)

LOL...my friends are pushing me to get politically active.  Who knows...if I don't run for office, however, they have something else up their sleeve, for which I am very eager to see happen out here in the sticks...but I will be running up against a lot of dissension.  Who knows.  Maybe I'm finally old enough to not worry about sticks and stones...
