Song of spring
time to sing

i yearn to trample
thru pristine green

pawns of lawns all manicured

i applaud as they pop

dandelions dots

weeds come screaming
thru the rocks

graffiti on
the subway door

next stop, brooklyn

hoyt and schermerhorn,

where homeless
sleep the late march dawn

silent shadows cropping up

reminders, blinders
cannot stop

unpretty truths
come gritty and grey

heads in the sand
but injustice still weighs

look at me shouting
old vain and insane

my soul breathes a godddess
but truth comes with rain

in threats to strip this long bleached mane

and fears to die ordinary, normal and plain

Excellent write Michele.
Somehow I picture you as an ageless goddess.
Always running barefoot through the grass.

No need to fear.  Your poetry gets better and better.  And as for the mane, there's a "solution" for that... Take care,

Oh sweet goddess, your fears are understandable, but only for 5 minutes!  At the very most, that's all the time it should take for you to look inside and remember where the real beauty lies and always will.  And don't forget your beautiful mind, too, that writes all this imaginative poetry!  This write is very clever, I like the double meanings throughout.  ~K~

There is nothing ordinary about you, you are unique and beautiful!

Skip barefoot on the Spring lawn and enjoy the colors of the world. In change we grow and walk ahead.

Wonderful write, but do not fear! Enjoy every minute of the Now.

Love and hugs. Margherita

Timeless and ageless
as the seasons turn,
tales are told,
first petals emerge,
bursting forth in the stark
gray, as passers-by take no notice,
except for the eyes of the goddess
who sees all and tells all....

yes, so few notice,
as if it werent even there

crocuses crowning
soundless in the still of night
come the morning
wont you applaud for their labor

Once a godess, always a godess. Old or young. You're special and it shows in every write.

Going into my library.

I love this Michelle. And, you
are not "old vain and insane". LOL

Hardly!

The petals falling still are sweet.

In my book.
