shaded black against the stars shining white
disguised as living
breath of the giving

harsh is the coldness brought forth by the night
with its wounds binding
its pain so finding

hanging tough, limb from limb, her tree of woes
thoughts neverending
always defending

deep rooted are these aches of such sorrows
victory the spoils
bathed so in their soils

but what if the day breaks surrounding her soul ...
will she soon forget
only she will know
       An old friend of mine lies in I.C.U. tonight, after being physically
           thrown from her boyfriends moving truck after an alcohol induced argument
           between the two .....

      ... daybreak is uncertain, my friendship never was.

                 Bev, you have lived through countless hells ..... if now is the time, then rest my friend.

It is so hard on a friend...ctowen..like you..but to write a poem is a good thing and to be there is what a friend does. I will send healing thoughts to all and a hug for you.
