Regarding periwinkle

never have i come across
such complimentary color
to the skyward flight
of the albatross

this hue i've read of
setting sail
on poetic pages
from shore to shore
letters of love embossed

this baby swaddled
in paper wrapping
snuggly boxed in
64 crayolas tossed

on the sky of chiffon
draped in this
purpled gloss

to the rush hour world
it brings a pause
