Noise That Couldn’t Be Me Felt the cold, the dark. Heard despair spring from my lips, not words, or cries, but sounds of agony, the knelling bells of deaths own chariot . . . coming. And yet I lived to see the dawn through blood-shot eyes, and croaked some noise that couldn’t be me, I stumbled to the kitchen another bottle of whatever I’d bought, and began my run again, down that endless road of forgetting . . . you. Of forgetting . . . you. w. james beard, jr. (c) march 2004 |

there has to be a place at the end of that road where we can smile and laugh again |

Passing Shadows...me thinks in large part that oneself needs to create such a space of solitude and safety where one can stand and regroup no matter what hand has touched one's soul, an inner-sanctuary where sanity maintains no matter what life throws at one's feet - one from which one starts out fresh again by locking the vault and saying good-by to the past, except in memory. jimmy [This message has been edited by jwesley (03-22-2004 08:25 PM).] |
