No flowers
Brightly fills this vase of late;

But now the spring comes
With many new blooms
Brightly fills this vase once more,
Masking detection
Chip imperfection,
Beneath all the daffodils,
Soon the cherry trees,
Will fill the soft breeze
To gather near on the ground
Soon the red roses
Will strike their poses
Climbing farther on arbor.

Now it is dusty
And slightly musty
Put away three quarter year
Waiting for water
And fresh cut flower
To be holding one more spring.

No flowers

Gloom

Isn't it wonderful how spring makes the world better? I like your poem.

Thank you, Pilgrimage,
Pleased you enjoyed

Thank you, passing shadows,
I tend to be that way,
By the way, the vase in the poem is a very special one
At least to me.
Rather old, but of little monetary value,
The only Item I own of a very special lady’s estate.

Very nice, Professor.  I can imagine the gentle coloring and the crack in the vase.  It won't be long until the flowers are there for the picking or looking.
