It is so insignificant as are other hairs can see them as I mount heaven's stairs the stubble found on the barley's flower doesn't add much to a nation's tactical power. A farmer notices it with more concern than me and these hairs help catch the wind for free As this awn marks a neighbours lawn after dawn will life continue to spawn? To the next world, away from noxious masses there are these hairs on grains and grasses, will hold my head up above the polluted field aware that the awn spoke of the affected yield, that might be insignificant as are other hairs less uneventful as would be New Year flares... As this awn marks a neighbour's lawn after dawn will life continue to spawn? |

wordwizard, I'm glad I've finally opened a couple of your poems. It seems that there just is not enough time to write, respond to people who have responded to yours, and get to read new works. I have to admit, I've lived on a farm for years and didn't know they were called awns. Pretty cool poem you have here, Sir-filled with good black soil. I hope more people check this out. Enjoyed.
