Hey Brother, can you spare a dime,
it seems I live on borrowed time.
'twas not my health that layed me low,
just that I can't afford to go !

My Doc, he told me to relax
or else I'd have a heart attack,
but, Uncle Sam, he said, "No way,
it's tax time boy, you're gonna pay!"

Here "After-tax" not "After-life"
I've been under my "uncles'" knife.
The tunnel and the blinding light,
has funneled every coin in sight!

It's not that I'm not thankful, dude,
to pay my debt of gratitude,
this poem I've penned, my life you've saved,
I can't afford an early grave!

Love your humor, Dr. Moose.  Always have since first read.  You have a nice way of presenting not-so nice things like taxes!  Still, my favorite is Cerulian Blue/Sir Rulian Blue?  I'll have to look that up again.

This poem put a smile on my face... and I need as many smiles I can get!

Thanks!

Sadelite,
Thanks so much. Haven't been penning too many funny ones of late. Must have misplaced
my funny pen ( now where did I put that darn thing?)
Doc
passing shadows,
Thanks for humoring me.
Doc
Neeraja,
Thanks, anytime.
Doc

Sy,
Thanks. Yeah, they whacked me pretty good this year. Oh well, if I work hard, I should be able to pay 'em off about June ( I just don't know what year!)

Doc, I am with you!

My "Uncle" is also my employer, therefore he takes back a chunk of what he pays me...

What was it called back in the day when the man you worked for paid you in money you could only use at his store?

lol...
