How timely. I'm on a friend's "retired" pc. Mine crashed a few days ago. |

2 years ago my computer did that and we had to replace. Very frustrating. Cold hands means a warm heart |

Perhaps the ancillary elliptical circuitry to the optical drive is mis-aligning itself with the motherboard’s intrinsic interrupts, circumventing the logical sequencing of the video card's vertical hold settings—errrr….it’s broke |

Ed, I'm sorry you're having trouble with your "computer". I wonder if Grandpa did have that trouble?? LOL "Love isn't blind, it just only sees what matters." William Curry |

Hey Ratleader, I love this write...is this how it was for Grandpa? Yes! No computers in those days, but my grandpa had THE most modern hearing aide....a box in the shirt pocket and a wire up to his ear. Grandma's shouting words were "enter enter enter", and Grandpa, having turned the volume down to zero, would smile back at her and his eyes said "blank screen, unconjuncted links." Haha, our family still talks about how clever he was....I went off on a tangent here, you inspired me with your humor! ~K~ |

They need to put a shelf-life [or, you may prefer "desk-top" life] date on computers, don't you think? |

LOL... Losing Data puts one on that slippery slope towards losing our mind, doesn't it? *S* And yes... Grandpa knew those "nothing is going right, tear out your hair" days of frustration, even if he didn't know computers. *S* I like this very much, my friend... and hope your woes are temporary! *S* |

We may have all experienced this at one time or another but you've shown it best. It's quirky (and that's a compliment because I love quirky!) *s |

Another read allows me to shed my literal-minded bias of eyes and appreciate the analogy. *S* So I now must add that you've written two wonderful poems in one... given us the instant gratification of identifying with computer problems... and the gut-curling knowledge that our minds can short-circuit just as easily. I liked it when I read the surface... like it more as I comprehend its depth. *S* |

For the folks who answered earlier, my apologies..... When every reader misses the poem's meaning, it's the writer's fault...and at PIP you can make repairs, so I did. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

Ed...I read this a bit different then the others...thinking that your future grandchildren were thinking of you...I can sure relate to that computer problem. If this is really happening, it's good that you can send out a little laugh about it...I hear it's good medicine! |

I should have been more astute to the meaning of 'stroke'. I've witnessed my fathers. The loss of data is quite distressing. As much as I liked the poem before knowing the intended meaning, I'm touched personally by it now. Thank you for this, Ratleader. |

Ed, sometimes we take things at first blush. Upon re-reading this, the analogy is more apparent... and more productive in tugging on my emotions. Reaching for the tissue now... |

RatL., Another grabber! You chose a great format that amplified your message. I saw the two poems in here, the two lives running in helpless parallels. Sir, you do have amazing talent! I'm hoping all is well while conjuring up these beautiful writes. Sadelite |
