I dreamed of you in the taxi I paid my dollars to be there A barren shack In a barren place Chickens outside our room Making a fool of myself But not knowing the rules Would I ever see you again But Life isn't like that Love for twelve hours In a dirty rotting shack I like to think you enjoyed yourself I was too eager to care And the state of my chest That morning Took away all of my cares Even after thirty years I still remember you And maybe an appreciation That life isn't just a screw. |
