Instead, We Speak of Gardening

He credits me with a green thumb,
points to the past as proof.
In truth, it’s a simple need to dig,
to unearth rhizomes and dormant bulbs.
This is where gardeners’ hands loosen nuggets.

He sees these gloves as more than cloth,
these tools for more than seed rows and weeds.
He’s come to expect eternal greenery.

This time, he prays for shallow roots --
a white alder, or a palm.

I can boil him tea from tree bark
or rub milk thistle into the swelling,

but I cannot keep this from growing,
though I claw my way to the earth’s core.

Heart hugs to you sweet lady..
I know where you are coming from.

Poetry is not an opinion expressed...
it is a song that rises from a bleeding wound
...or a smiling mouth.

This touches me as I believe I know
what you are referring to...
and I can only say...do you need a prayer said?
If so, I have some to spare...

I feel this... wonderfully woven.

Beauty of the world which is soon to perish has two edges, one of laughter and one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder.

Thank you, Chris, Martie, Enchantress, passing shadows, Maree and my friend Sunshine.

It appears the worry is to be put hold, for now (it's a wait and watcher). I thank you for your kind, kind words.
