I am a moving kiosk. not for pinning public notice of your new wave band, fledgling cult's enthusiasm for the newest guru or the "must sell slightly used leather-like sofa" more a hazy object to be considered in your own movements as you would sidestep the beggar, the dogwalker or overcome the shrinking, half ghost aged in their sluggish journey down to a waiting earth I am a soul checker have no aboriginal fear that I am a camera trying to take from you or capture your image. though I seek more of you than you'll ever see of me I will not keep it just checking unlike the wind which cannot choose its stream my sail sways both left and right as I course the tight canyons of your city blocks. politics, bigotry, religion often change at every footfall in the shadow and the light of love and hate. I'm the flipper in deep currents, a quintain which reacts to your aggressions, the hair which goes both somewhere and nowhere when you run. my broad shoulders are weather vane who don't care to know directions I'm your brother I'm your father I'm your son |

One more word to add to my vocab... Thank you for that and for a read which cinematically makes me picture a dark superhero/comicbook character like The Shadow, Batman, or perhaps The Invisible Man... Extraordinary worlds within the common one with which most are familiar... -MVS You CAN make a difference: |

"I am a soul checker have no aboriginal fear that I am a camera trying to take from you or capture your image. though I seek more of you than you'll ever see of me I will not keep it" if more men were like this...it would be a nicer place for women...missing you in your travels...h |

Inasmuch as you get pleasure blending into the scenery about you, the pleasure is ours in the sharing of what you quite often see. Sometimes I think we are all part flaneur, I know I certainly am. Nice scenes, setting, and stage in this one Richard. Freestyle surprise! |

Sunshine........Always nice to have your notice and a bonus to stir thought. Thanks Cpat Hair.......Thank you Sir for reading and reading today Mark...........Glad you see the motion in this picture. I fancy myself merely an everyman and it is nice to believe that such could potentially be heroic. "Flaneur" in an English dictionary would disolve to merely a loafer or idler. My intent was more along the line of Baudelaire's term coined to mean a sort of modern man seduced by the ever changing spectacle provided by a busy urban setting. Applicable to a photographer such as Robert Doisneau and his memorable black and white shots of Paris streets. It was a trip to the New Orleans Museum of Art which inspired this modest write as well as a subsequent jaunt through the French Quarter afterward. Additionally a 'quintain' is that scarecrow looking stand which swung around when struck by those mounted ahorse and practicing for jousts. Helen.......Thank you for the high compliment. I uncomplainingly stand on the sidelines of love and am happy to merely observe now. Martie......I'm glad I sent you to the dictionary. I'm delighted you went. Thanks Enchantress.....Thanks for reading and hugs to you as well. Sy..........Thanks for the welcoming as well as the notice. Sharon.......Yes, I try and blend (when sober) I've, over time toned down my wardrobe to that of a Russian proletariat and allow others to amuse now. Glad you liked it. Thanks |
