Come back to me
gently, as you left me

in a hazelike hush

in premonitions and inklings

whispers and extended shadows

flood the field with yellow flowers

sprinkle petals
upon spring's empty covers

let me stand from the distance
in admiration of your aura

my eyes filled
in bouquets

as winter abdicates
on her final hours

my eyes filled
in tossed bouquets

as winter steps
graciously
from her throne
at her final hours

This is awesome and I am keepin' it!
hugs, Chris

Inky
First of all, I love this poem...
I am assuming that you are refering to witch hazel flowers..."in a hazelike hush"(blooms in early spring)
If so, the one you spoke of is the Virginia witch-hazel...and perhaps you live in an area where the two species overlap...because you seem to mention the vernal witch hazel also?..(blooms in fall and late winter)

"Come back to me
gently, as you left me"

The poem is nicely arranged, enjoyed reading it..
