My Imaginary Nature Goddess My imaginary Nature Goddess Is the circulating blood, The beating heart, The great circle of death and birth, The filling and emptying womb, The rhythm of day and night, The ebb and flow of the tides, The advancing retreating ice, The coming and going of seasons, The rising and setting sun, The waxing and waning moon, The breath and exhalation of Earth’s crust, And even the great cosmic furnaces At the fiery cores of stars Where matter itself Is destroyed and recreated. By night, she brings me Nourishing and funny dreams. And by day, strength and resolution to prevail. And she Helps me find my way Through a sometimes harsh and unforgiving world. And wherever I walk, She walks beside me. And wherever I go, She comes with me. And wherever I am, she is there. And I need only think of her To know I will never be alone again. She is my imaginary Nature Goddess; And the Goddess lives within us all Jaime From the Southern Cross To the Northern lights. |
