Red Wing beats his chest in his theatrical pronouncement “Look at me!”…”Look at me” swells his grand announcement To Cardinal claiming air determined but to see If by chance a branch to victor guarded wearily To covet dried of yesterday in place of sweet lament Into the future for the floor of wishful malcontent Across the view of gosling tromps a parents pledge to sun Regalia of the clearest signs that spring claims its begun And hope blooms into buds of sure and plenty by the rite Upon the wing of visitors returning from their flight There is courageous reckoning upon the change that comes Attuned into the moments glow, the song that nature hums Copyright Kkh 3/10/04 |
