I'm So Tired of Today

I'm so tired of today...haggard...worn,
So sick of the emptiness life's become,
My heart's naked as the day I was born,
And there's naught that can lift me from the glum.

My dreams have been whorled into the vortex,
Yet the brackish waters seek so much more,
An ending to the cerebral cortex--
--The cessation of the sweep of the oar.

Let mine eyes be wedded to lifeless stares,
Let the roar of the torrent still my heart,
For I am weary of putting on airs,
When all I've known has fallen apart.

Morpheus grant me the Elysian Fields,
And the shelter that such an ending yields.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

Hi wordwizard...thank's for the response. Don't be alarmed...it is JUST a poem. Nothing more. I have no dark thoughts...only what I write in rhyme. Life is good, all is well, and this is just a playing with words and meter.
