Welcome To The Regime
By: Noah Eaton
3/7/04

Flat-top's granted permission to land,
the landing gear's disabled,
but the big machine still thumbs on...
...punch-drunk on the fallen heroes,
you believe that anger can bring power,
blind to see fear is paraquat,
skinning the pioneers alive...

Bending the syndicate to your will,
playing your same old shell game,
if you're so good at protecting us,
then why aren't we safe?
Gauzing up the screen caps,
investing the debacle to your political gain,
if you're so good at protecting us,
then why aren't we safe?

You hang common courtesy at the top of the flagpole,
so that we can't reach or read,
noticing I am defenseless in a scissor fight,
every formal complaint only brings us to our knees.
apprehending religion and production,
grasp so tight it feels like a hairshirt,
caviling like a fish hawk,
taking in and denouncing the fresh-faced prisoners...

Bending the syndicate to your will,
playing your same old shell game,
if you're so good at protecting us,
then why aren't we safe?
Gauzing up the screen caps,
investing the debacle to your political gain,
if you're so good at protecting us,
then why aren't we safe?

Welcome to the regime,
where the teller is the priest,
hypocrisy breeds like miller moths,
coalition of the willing speaks newspeak,
welcome to the regime,
the grindstone is free,
but the inside scoop,
comes with a fee...

you believe that anger can bring power,
blind to see fear is paraquat,
skinning the pioneers alive,
fear is prison,
fear is prison,
fear is prison,
fear is prison,
the fearful are the most to be feared...

But if the bright lights don't receive you
You should turn yourself around and come back home" MB20

I couldn't resist quoting this exert a song..
*
"Welcome to my nightmare
I think you're gonna like it
I think you're gonna feel like you belong
A nocturnal vacation
Unnecessary sedation
You want to feel at home 'cause you belong"
(Alice Cooper)
*
Keep resisting, Noah...
I am enjoying your youtful exuberance.

My hope is that the regime will change soon, but my experience is that men that become drunk with power act much the same, when handed the right tools to make their opponents listen....
