pull me out of this drum.
i dont want to die.
the dentist was gentle,
but i still had to cry.
the day takes off running
i skinned my knee.
music and science
will crucify me.
i send you my love,
another one lost.
just drag me behind you
i'll survive on exhaust.
i'm still fighting things
on lonely bones.
i can outmanuever
sticks and stones.
asking attention
from those who are blind.
turning away from
the sincerest mind.
tread shamefully on
hollow ground.
pictures make life
more profound.
i fall so short
of expectation
yet still the apex
of god's creation.
i carry fragility
like a well-weathered friend.
step on me
i won't break again.
for those of you
in this same place
you are the most
beautiful disgrace.
perfectly crafted
painted by number
but eden never did
outlast the summer.
the people i know
will remember me thus:
an ugly girl
who understood us.

joy has its own justice. and dreams are languid and lawless. and everything bows to beauty, when it's fierce and when it's flawless...

This is marvelous.

I loved all of it, but this got my attention:

"the day takes off running
i skinned my knee.
music and science
will crucify me."

And this just hammered it home:

"i fall so short
of expectation
yet still the apex
of god's creation.
i carry fragility
like a well-weathered friend.
step on me
i won't break again."

Smile.

Lady, if you're in my head I'm not responsible for any injuries incurred while you're there.

I enjoyed this much, thank you.

That image really tickled me! Thanks.

beautifully smashing... love it!

Beauty of the world which is soon to perish has two edges, one of laughter and one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder.

"just drag me behind you
i'll survive on exhaust."

So much in this...

Every line..

I am in awe.

I like this. You boldly face daily obstacles with a great outlook.
