Listening to every heart

I play the solitaire game now and then
so when it is against me
I know I must write….

And when it is with me, I stay away from writing
For luck is most certainly not on my side
In finding the right words
For the write of now…

For I have substituted
“if you’re winning, unlucky in love…”

I check horoscopes
Now and then, following who it is
A sign of my life is following…
And who it is not…

And I see the edge to believing in that…

I use to fold diapers just so
and still and now fold sheets, then towels
Just like this…giving the most
To the least space;

For some things can’t be broken
Before they’re fixed…

And sometimes I write of elephants
and rooms, and teacups and leaves…
something to believe in
and something to live with…

So if there is no understanding
to the above,
go ahead and smile…
