"How can I, that girl standing there, My attention fix On Roman or on Russian Or on Spanish politics?" W.B.Yeats * At the light....by Ice * Something inside the male brain, Overtakes, in spring, its normal policy. The cognition of sidewalk signals, (inaudible in winter) high-heel taps, And views of coat hid wiggles Are now on public display; As the road that crosses late April, Turns the corner towards May * He cannot clearly see Nor by hearing, sense But through a rolled down window Rolls a pleasing scent Making his sonar flash with blips Of thoughts that signal call For more than just one kiss; * Dashes and dotting, dot, dot, dotting Morse-code on the concrete fill his mind With signal sounds of lusting, And the hope that he will see A lovely something, scantly dressed. * He doesn't know, the signal's changed Thinks the lights at stop, still red And stares a while there mesmerized With thoughts, that he still has some time, (Before he has to go) to dwell On naked dreams inside his head. * Caught midway in stare, By the lovely bevy walking there Acting coy but hiding joy, ( shyly turning from his leer) Casting sidelong smile his way; They try hide the secret That... they enjoy his peeping; But horns in back begin to blare The light has changed to shade of green, And those behind are beeping. * end |

What a poet you are to take such a simple thing and make it into a reel of pictures -- good humor! |

(giggles in delight) Awwwwwww, this is too cute, sweet friend, they say when you feel love all the world seems to slow down to a pause, and though I have no hand to hold now, I believe the magic is all true love and can make you beautifully numb! (smiles) Hehehe, love can even make you play in traffic, God Bless You, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ford, thank you for sharing! May love and light always sine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "You'll find something that's enough to keep you |

Big smiles and hugs to all that replied to this poem....I am in a rush right now and cannot reply personally to all.... But that does not at all mean I don't appreciate each individual one. Thank you...... __________ice ><> |

Serenity Thank you.. I have held that quote in mind for a long time, waiting for the right poem to arrive and use it in. The Yeats poem is short, titled "Politics" a good read.... * Krawdad lol, I guess spring helps, but as you say "...I guess my sense of imagination has been honed by long nights, sharp ice and deep snow " Sounds like you are warm enough already..Thanks for the reply... * Froggy Thanks, glad you "love" it.... * Paris Grl Thank you for reading and commenting... ________ice ><> |
