While my Angel Sleeps The sorrows fade as sorrows surely must When in my arms at last you gently sleep. While in their stead contentment born of trust At once provides a calm serene and deep. No sleep could grant the peaceful sleep that's found In holding you throughout a silent night, A silence broken only by the sound Of soft and rhythmic breaths of pure delight. Then sleep my sweet and dream unfettered dreams, For nowhere is your safety more secure And never is love truer than it seems Just now, when bound by mutual allure. Through fleeting moments passed without a trace My gaze will never leave my angel's face. |
