A stitch in time saves nine. A kiss in chime craves rhyme. A RISK IN RHYME BRAVES TIME |

J.Samm. I thought it would be kind of fun, but it took quite a bit of work to put it together--more than I thought it would. I tried to decorate it with cross-stitch x's or kisses, but they wouldn't work on this screen! Glad you enjoyed... Sadie Passing Shadows, Creative maybe, but writing poetry is kind of hard for me! I wish I had your talent to say heartfelt emotions. Sadie |

The Anvil Mind Another acrostic burning through time One struck How solidly The anvil mind Heartily singes sparks Envy from iron draws Amid the lightning flame Never pausing for quickness frame Vital to cause creation instantaneous Interposes the question why flame light forge embers dying unborn More it cries, flame and fire Incessant desire hammering, nay say ye Nay to thy ceasing bellows forge Dreams aloud speak best forges few "Sooner or later, Death makes a believer out of just about everyone." |

iliana, "Very cool." I'm glad you liked it. You know, Jo, these short ones are as tough as the others I write... This one probably took close to two hours by the time I organized just the lists of different patterns of rhyming words (even though I was using a rhyming dictionary)! Then to find the three rhymes that could work together and put in a logical order... I don't think these come off as logical to the reader, but my intent was to show how taking a stitch in time can nurture a relationship, if one takes the risk involved, and that those memories would brave the time... I hope my thoughts were clear. (I had orginally typed this in a cross-stitched "cycle"-it was really cool, well designed and added to the meaning, but wouldn't print right here.) Cathy |

Death, Your acrostic is well worth posting on the main table for everyone to read. This was brilliantly written. Unfortunately, I had never read the greats in high school or college and it's hard for me to decipher the old English; (I read it through about four times, each time seeing more brilliance in your thinking. Your style is growing on me.) Thanks for posting this. Sadelite |

Marge, You are a regular sweetheart! Thanks for your kindness. I haven't cross-stitched for years, but I do have this drawn out in an oval of cross stitches with A kiss in chime craves rhyme in the center of the oval and the other two rhymes bordering the outside of the oval. I wanted this to be written in a cycle format with arrows like the food chain, but couldn't do it here. I love reading your work. I'll see you at your post this weekend. It's about the only time I have to stop by anymore... Sadie |
