I am a mirrored muse Each reflecting a different reality to my source of truth A fluctuating tide An uncomfortable moon falling from a sky of irregularity A reed in the breeze that sings songs Sometimes a tune slipping so gently across the timid edge Others a scream upwardly pushing through the thickness of hollow Internal mystery My voice never stays the same A reflection of another Blending into a beige street parade Never moving Always fast A writer for the past A descendent of the future No longer will your face be my grandfather clock I don't listen to the ticking of nothing beyond the I Covering the thorns that opened Sacrificed a closing pore Giving up on yelling outloud to the water to fill the skin Never listens Too busy making love with War And tapping songs into rememberence of stone Hoping that one day soon a ship of cliche will arrive at a port in which another lays Taking up the motel room in which heaven floats When payday is far from tipping Refilling an empty heart with gold... The kind of gold sipped through a straw The blood from butterfly's wings Blown out Making a circle space Come bathe in this pool where no one is named. |
