(This was a very feeble attempt for me to try to write about something that is very painful. I hope that you will be patient with my attempt to do this and look over the mistakes I've made in the technical parts of this poem. This is straight from my heart.) . . . When she was just a little girl And asking about the world I tried to tell my little Dear That some people she needed to fear But, like me, she has a trusting heart Of hurt, she's had her part Having more than most of us Because of whom she put her trust I'm having a hard time writing this To tell her my thoughts, I wish But things in her are pushed way down inside Rather than talk about, them she'd rather hide Wondering why then, she wouldn't tell me Or why couldn't I see Later, she said, afraid of what I would do Then, without me, she would be, too For she felt that she had lost her real Dad With divorce and separation, we had Then, he went on to lead his life With another family and his new wife A short time ago to me, she said That all who had hurt her are now dead A small bit of peace this brought to me Because, alive, I still seem to be I still wonder why she wouldn't tell me Or why couldn't I see? . . . Thank you all for listening to my heart. |

(big angel hugs) Oh Ethel, I'm so sorry that your daughter has had to go through too much missing her father and all, sweet friend, it can be unbearable for any child and I know that soon she will accept Gary as her daddy always when she continues to get to know him better and soon the tears will end! (wipes tears) God Bless You, sweet friend, you have a golden heart, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "You'll find something that's enough to keep you |

I'm sorry about your daughter. Divorce is a difficult thing for any child to have to go through, but she is certainly blessed with having a caring mother that watches over her the way that you do. |

garysgirl...Very emotional and heartfelt poem. Divorce is never easy and there is plenty of pain for all to share in. I've been there as a child and there as an adult. You wrote about something very personal and hurtful. That takes courage. Thank you for this poem. ***Ivy Rose |

Ethel, I, too, was a single mom for a few years. I understand your feelings. Single parents take on the role of mom and dad and children take on the role of protecting mom or dad and their feelings. Bless your heart! hugs, jo |

Bless you Ethel I'm sure you daughter will understand once she gets old enough She'll understand that sometimes the people we care most for, leave us And she'll also understand that the people we care most for, also stay and raise us on their own You're doing a great job Ethel With your writing, but most of all, with your daughter Hugs,Richy |

Noah, Jeff, Ivy rose, Lauren, McGroves, iliana, Richy, Thank you all so very much for your compassionate and caring replies. As some of you know, there is much more involved here than just divorce. I appreciate all of you so much. Hugs to each of you, Ethel |
