Such are the times and I can’t decide suffer peaceful remains day into night, ride highways to death bound ignorant, or hunt in the forest of different beliefs. In a moment like this my lifetime recalls times of the truth known each one and all but fallacy, dream, or a wishful scheme tickles the ends of twisted brain lengths. Echoes of laughter from within or above encircle then stop at the point of pure love like a vehicle on wheels at a traffic light waits for a sign to proceed on ahead. I could be slightly angled sideways unaware of the message flashing today till impatiently moved by upcoming views I go forward before I’m even in gear. And so we arrive maybe somewhat coerced unsure of the route or how to reverse but we’re here or we’re there and free to explore or remain unaware on dusty farm roads. Such are the times of life’s mystery ride; stop, look, and listen, but who really decides? Helen |

Original. Flows nice and well written. Great images and metaphors, "Echoes of laughter from within or above encircle then stop at the point of pure love." Grover. |

methinks you ask the question that thinking peoples have asked perhaps since time began...how much of my own life do I really have control over?...maybe we will never know...we only know the tragedies and the triumphs...the winners and the losers...and perhaps those who get out of the race altogether...excellent write...your piece makes the reader ponder weighty matters |

Such are the times of life’s mystery ride; stop, look, and listen, but who really decides? It is so true Helen, I ponder this mystery all the time. Beautifully related and layered very well. Exceleent work Helen. Thank you. |

Thanks to all for your kind comments. Yes, we ponder these weighty matters but to what end, I wonder. We will never know the answer but perhaps it's enough that we merely ask the question. Meanwhile there's life and we just get on with it as best we can. |

We ponder these things because every once in a while we can find little bits of bigger answers. Great poem Hellen, thanks for sharing it! |

Thanks icebox! I just seem to find bigger questions and no answers except those I devise to satisfy myself. I guess that's enough - all I'm likely to get in any event. |

Helen I think those who have the most questions already know many of the answers...like you. Always so much thought and wisdom in your poetry...I appreciate you sharing it. |

Thanks, Martie. I'm not too sure about the "wisdom" bit but I think I will get there one day - not sure which lifetime though. |
