I'm having trouble liking this one cause I sound like I'm whining to me, but I was really just ranting because my mother frusterates me sooooo much! So excuse the *not so goodness* of this poem but I need to get it out before I burst. Guilty letters Guilty pleasures Mommy what have you done? Midnight hour Love grown sour I got another one I got a letter yesterday The second one this week You call me pumpkin and princess And speak of how you miss me I was your sweet little girl Your never-ending flare Oh how I was deceived Into thinking that you cared You used to call me on the phone And say “pumpkin I love you” And I was mommies little girl As I blushed and whispered “I love you too” You called because you’d had a drink and then slept with another man You called for just one reason and yes I believe its true You never meant a thing you said I was just a guilt reliever to you But when I was little I was fooled For I honestly thought you cared But I found the truth one cold rainy night When in drink your soul was bared So we grew apart you and I And things were never the same You moved far away So you wouldn’t have to hang your head in shame And we never spoke again Accept infrequently on the phone Then the letters started coming Telling of how you missed me so I got so I didn’t care I would read them and then move on But its been six months and now two in one week Mommy what have you done? It must have been something dreadful If you had to write me two But really I’m not mad I mostly pity you I pity what you have become A dead body with a brain And although I love you dearly I can’t ease your conscience again Still I wonder what it is As I sit down to read And I sigh, coldly numb As I listen to your pleas Guilty letters Guilty pleasures Mommy what have you done? Midnight hour Love gone sour …I got another one Because of you I laugh a little harder, smile a little more, and cry a little less |

I think the content is great on this. It may be that you wrote it out of pique but I would guess it more to be rancor... hard feelings are hard to tell. But really good content and if I may... I think you could do this one better, sounds like you been around the block a couple of times so I say spill it with some words.... but don't cuss, Ron doesn't get into that. lucky dale |

I do not know how to begin to reply...there is such bittersweetness, such disappointment, such exquisite passion in this write that it is obvious it comes from the heart...if the secret to successful writing is passion, you have raised the bar.. |

Bella, I fully understand the emotions you apparently had about writing this one. Though the things I need to write about aren't the same, I do have some problems that I need to write about. I think that writing these things would help to release the pain inside of us. So, just keep trying to write them out. You did very well with this one, sweet lady. Hugs Ethel |

Bela -- writing is a great release -- and although the tone of this was dark and resentful, it was a good poem. |
