The Cry of the Circus Barker

Come kinsmen to the teddy bear parade,
Gather gentlefolk on the esplanade,
The hurdy-gurdy man will play a tune,
This festival’s certainly opportune.

Belly-up seigneurs to the ticket booth,
There's plenty of candy for thy sweet tooth,
For but a half-crown you too can come in,
Make haste, I swear, the show will soon begin.

Under the big top there's marvelous sights,
Thee can not conceive the thrills and delights,
I think your fiancées will be impressed,
If the issue of this fee is addressed;

Two and a half shillings is a just price,
So listen fellows to this free advice,
'Tis true now is not the time to dally--
--Into the dark depths with thy gal sally.

Hearken dear friends! Give me your attention,
It seems I might have forgot to mention,
We have tigers for thy viewing pleasure,
Some say the bearded dame is a treasure.

The wonders you'll behold amaze me mates,
A half-crown lads is worthy of your dates,
We've room inside for but a couple more,
Come see the marvels you too might explore.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

Great write! I am a circus-bonded heart. Because in my hometown there were the winter quarters of our National circus and I grew up in those surroundings.
Love, Margherita

Do you have any idea how much I love this???
Coming from a family of entertainers...
I deem this a keeper!!

Can I go to the circus instead of work today?
I had to read this again before going off to do that 8 hour thing.

Ev2,

I was scrolling to find one of yours and came to this one again.  I'm glad I did.  I remember reading this one and liked it.  I just read your response on one of mine, and I wanted to tell you to take care.  Keep writing.  I had to scroll several pages to find this.  GET YOUR PEN OUT!  You have a lot of readers and friends here.

Thank you Sadelite. Sorry but I just have not been in the mood to write lately. I am glad I was in your thoughts though.
