Little diamonds of light moving slowly across the water Like an infinite number of stars Being passed from one swell to another Held up with pride, if only for a fleeting moment Dark clouds, proud guardians of the night Part on the horizon, giving in to the power of Light Shredded ripples trying in vain to hold onto what is lost A pallet of morning colors march by their futile resistance Bringing forth the day that He hath given The profound words of a reluctant poet in my ears Touching the very core of my soul Stirring a heart that for too long was dormant Breaking it wide open To be shared this way with you Nothing ever happens unless first a Dream - Rod |
