Turned Down Eyes Concrete faces drench themselves with tears, They are so stained from the saddening years. That unthinking mind beneath the earth Has felt no love since it's quiet birth. Poor lonely soul locked in a lowly tower Kept sane from counting dying hours. In the west a secret was whispered again Of the hope that has been held within. Prickling ears lean close to overhear Things concrete has watched over the years. You can see the tales in it's eyes Of when drivers beleive alcohol's lies. And it's pupils follow rain filled tracks off the road That lead to freshly planted flowers just a day old. Old and young create forever rain Filling thier funeral cups with sadness again. The drunkard lives to drink away despair in tomorrow, While the remaining family drinks in their own sorrow. Three white crosses recount the same old tale Of how unheeded precuations will always fail. now im alone, but not lonely like before |

hmmmm... we just had an assembly the other day about drinking and driving... so this is all fresh in my mind. The imagery in this was great. ~Lex |
