A Reflection A spur-of-the-moment thing they say One just coming right out of the blue, Telling the difference between puppy love And one that eternally holds true. Could I? Would I? Did I love her? The answer I couldn't seem to speak. Every time, moment, or journey we had It all felt so unique. My friends told me to go for it; Her friends said the same things, too. I wish things were easy that way, As simple as an "I love you." What I felt was much different though, How hard for me is it to say That my affections grew more and more for her Each passing moment and time of day. She did come up to me one time, Asked how I was, I said, "Good." I asked her if we can hang around sometime And she said, "We really should!" Life became an utter bliss soon after With smiles together we would sneak. It was as if we were in paradise As life went on week by week. But nothing of it came later If anything did at all, Just regretting not making the choice Of making just one last call. We did pass each other by today, But nothing was at all the same. One would only talk to the other Only if the other spoke to one by name. It's just funny how we notice That it's our first love we remember most, Yet few people can tell you the reason why That the love is so worthy to boast. For I can give you an honest answer, Because for me it still holds true. Try remembering your one true love Before rushing to say, "I do." ------------ Hey, long time no post. If anyone remembers me or my poems, yes, this is about the same person. I was just thinking about the usual things, then all of a sudden thoughts of last year's events flooded my mind and I knew I had to write something. Simply put, we had a strong liking towards each other but didn't realize it until it was too late. She's with someone else now... [This message has been edited by Halcyon (03-14-2004 08:13 PM).] |

Yeah, that might be it. There was always this feeling of mutual friendship, even a bit more than that for a while, but it was never brought out to the open. What happened though, is that someone else asked her to the prom the very same week I was about to let it all unfold.. that kind of ruined it for me, and she's been with him ever since. So yeah, I think I did wait too long. |

I remember you! There's so many new names here now, *cowers alittle* j/k. Ah yes, waiting too long to tell someone how you feel. I know about that. I really enjoyed this poem, it was very descriptive and you got the feeling across well. Thanks for sharing. WinterWren- |
