This was a difficult poem for me, one of my first from over a year ago. in this poem my long term relationship had ended and i was seeking renewed friendship. i loved her endlessly as i do now, but we both knew it could not work, so in my pain came this peice: Chandra, Sleep as Well as I... Each new night I welcome without regret I see the beauty in every new sunset Even as the icy air rolls in I know my blood won't run thin My swollen heart will keep me warm Through what would be another sullen storm Your truly in my arms tonight I'll feel your form and hold you tight And I know as I go into my sleep It's our renewal of love that I weep No more tears of lonely pain The light you shine shows again Though through great gaps we embrace Knowing you still love me erases this space Ronald J Walsh |

Oh the line of swollen hearts and blood not running thin. Its a reminder of the strength what we call persistence. If love is truly blind; then how do we write such truths?? Just a thought... most enjoyed read. NJS |
