These walls grow steeper,
As you try to get closer.
I can’t help it,
I have to protect myself now.

I can never be vulnerable,
I can’t let you get in.
I can never let you see,
How to get under my skin.

I guess it’s time to tell you,
You can try as hard as you want,
But I won’t allow you to change me,
So you can just quit now.

I can’t allow you inside these walls,
So you could just tear them to the ground.
I’m simply closing you out,
What goes around, comes around.

‘Cuz you haven’t seen,
What you did to me.
You never will either,
So just give up now.

So many memories,
Locked up inside,
I’ll never let go,
Of how much I cried.

I can’t be in your presence,
It’s too intoxicating.
The very sight of you hurts,
So I’ll leave now.

Call me a coward,
I no longer care.
I don’t care if you’ll miss me,
Life isn’t always fair.

I soak up all the pain, and accept it in silence~DMX

I can't believe that no ones replied to this, I thought it was really good, I've felt that way with many people before in my life but I haven't broken down yet, nice write

I really loved your poem. One of your best i have to say. I have felt like that a lot lately. Sometimes you just have to let go, just like you said. I cant wait to read your next poem.
