You were my best friend
Thats what made you different from all the rest

Remember the little bird nest, so high up in the tree?
I climbed up to retrive the nest
but I fell you were there to catch me

From then on, we made a pact that we'd be best friends forever
that we'd stick it through thick and thin, and from worst to best and always and forever

Then, when I needed you the most, you just up and left
I know now that you aren't different from the rest
You watched me fall and make a mess out of everything that was left
I made a huge mistake and you don't even care
you weren't even there to help me bare

Now you want me to forgive you, you say?
Well I am saying no,now what do you say?
Will you say please oh please,oh god I'm sorry?
Or will you lean back and say oh well, hey, there's morry?

I will not forgive you, so don't even try
really, it won't matter how much you cry
friends are sopossed to be there through thick and thin
What happened to our pact we made way back when?

If you look at that
then, maybe you'll see why I'm acting the way that you see

now, don't try to start it over with me
just try to do better with whats his name, oh, Morry!

remember you made that pact too, if your friend is sorry, then maybe you need to forgive?

just a thought.

a friendship is never 50/50 even though we think ideally, it should be. Sometimes you are the strong one, sometimes you are the weak one. Sometimes you forgive and move past mistakes they make, the same as you'd hope they would do for you.

yea...this was something that happened last year... it is not one of my newest poems, but I posted it anyways. I forgave her two weeks later & we went back to being best friends

Hey i really enjoyed this poem! it reminds me of me and one of my friends...we're supposedly still best friends..yet shes never around when i need her....i'm going through a super hard time right now...she hasnt tried once to make me feel better....so i really like this poem!

I'm glad to hear you like the poem. I hope that your friendship works out and that your best friend will realize what she has been doing. Then, maybe things will go back to the way they were.

hey, I definetly like this poem. I love the way you sort of go back and forth between you and your friend without making it confusing or messing up the flow, its really clean.
