A poem is a painting
Of what someone feels
The heartache and pain
They wish to reveal

A poem is written
To say what’s on our minds
Our thoughts and dreams
Which will never die

It can be written to save our soul
Or mend our broken heart
It can tell the world about the lord
Or tell them simply who you are
