just as grapefruits shrink over time, your faith in me as faded and dried. our bitterness fills the room, so much so that my apologies rot on my tongue before you can even hear me. the weak and the gentle look identical in the shield of the dark, but i can tell the difference. guilt can hide no longer. haunted by your sweet caresses of yesterday, i can't bear to hold your gaze if you can only see me with jaded eyes. and the belfry empties as the sound of my shattering heart pours out for all to enjoy. "and i'll sit and wonder of every love that could have been if i'd only thought of something charming to say..." -death cab [This message has been edited by StarryEyed3 (09-18-2005 08:42 PM).] |
