because life is not always straightforward. you have to look beyond. people keep saying that you have to look beyond. and all i can think is "beyond what?" because there's nothing in front of me. and i know a girl who writes only in third person. she doesn't want the blame placed on her. she doesn't want anything to be related back to her. she wants nothing to do with anything. and i look at her and think "why are you empty? why are you empty?" but she cannot read thoughts and she does not reply. and i have already found the answer. and if she could read thoughts and i could read hers she'd be thinking "because you are so full. so full of nothingness." and i start looking beyond. i scream to a reflection that is not of myself. i scream, "who will bring my salvation? who will cure me of my nothingness?" i scream, "i want to be empty. i'd rather be empty than full of this nonexistence." and the glass will shatter. and i will look beyond that silver mirror and see myself inside the girl writing in third person. and i will look at her and think "why are you empty? why are you empty?" and she will respond, "because life is not always straightforward." |

You got some good thoughts in this! Life can be so confusing at times, can't it? Anyway, this is really well done. Hope to see more from you. ![]() ~Elizabeth Dreams last for so long, even after you're gone... |

Very interesting concept. I think that "and i know a girl who writes only in third person. she doesn't want the blame placed on her." was by far the best part of this poem. Keep up the good work. --i feel right at home in this stunning monochrome, along in my way-- |
