Their eyes locked The moment they met And they just knew That they’d never forget Trading friendly words Turned in to something more Leading them to realize It’s each other they are for Yet still they carried on Afraid to drop the protective pretense: For until that fateful day None had felt emotion as intense But fate always has it’s way And brought them close together; The boy finally gave in, Knowing it was now or never He waited an hour’s eternity For her emotional reply The words she used he’ll always remember Unto and beyond the day he’ll die And thus they were joined; Two soul’s becoming one And their love indeed Was rivaled by none Together they stood through trials strong Ever vigilant and growing confident Believingthere was nothing love could not overcome Ignoring the silent invasion of arrogance Eighteen months together they lived; A lifetime of love they shared Yet in his bliss he was unaware That in her heard she’s running scared Growing tensions came to head On another fateful night Words of anger harshly said revealed true extent of their plight On and off for two more days Their solemn war did rage Taking blame and promising to change his ways Did nothing to halt life’s turning page The truth he just could not forgive, That the ultimate betrayal she did commit That moment he’ll forever relive When she told him their love was forfeit And so they moved on More distant than before And he’s barely holding on Battered by pain he tries to ignore She’s moved on now too Greeting life with a fading smile on her face Pushing aside all she’s been through Secretly remembering their fall from grace One is now two Their lives torn apart And there’s nothing left to do In these matters of the heart "I am a part of the world that I hate/I wish the end would come faster, my world's a distaster," - Crossfade "Starless" |

Wow Rich. Amazing write...I'm just speechless. *thinks* I can't really explain what I'm thinking. Like the poem was really awesome although it was kinda sad and all...lol. And I liked the title, it really fit. Anyways, enjoyed this write. ~Alli~ Happy 2005! |

Dang Rich!! I'm absolutly speechless...it flowed extremely well, the rhyming was amazing and the story...so very sad yet so typical sometimes. I guess there's always that one little doubt or thought that leads to a break in the once-so-solid life we held. I hope you don't mind if I keep this, you did an amazing job. AIM-blueyed angel940 |

This described the story very well. The ryhming scheme was really good. The second to last stanza was probably my favorite. This is going in my library. Wounds of the heart are always the hardest to heal, I hope your doing okay. If I could fall asleep tonight |

hmmm. its very well written, nicely composed. The rhyme is good, usually rhyme bugs the crap out of me but this was good. |
