my own doubt think about your life, i've thought of mine. how well do you know anyone? how well do you know yourself? im acquainted with many but i know so not one, not even myself. my values have been changed much over years of steady influence. i finally realize that i truly have lost myself, to where i dont know. for so long, ive thought myself important,. for so long, i thought i was a leader. i only lead in following and in turn follow the true leaders. ive become a mixture of people past and present. my life is just a vapor, so insignificant in the sea of eternity. so i pray that my unrevealed hopes last longer than my will to pray. maybe one day, maybe no day, i will look around and realize that im not alone in this feeling, that im not so lost. maybe im who i was born to be, maybe im not to influence others, but at least i will know my place. not high with the esteemed, but low with the ignored. now im alone, but not lonely like before |

Oh Alex, this one really touched me. I liked the way that you wrote with so much feeling and heart. I don't know you well enough to know if these are your own feelings, or just writing, so that's all I will say about the content. Just know that I commend you for making it feel so real. Hugs Ethel |

I feel quite similar to this at times. But self pity is a ricdiculous disease. There is pain and hope to this poem. Godd job. ~Lex |
