I have nothing left to give to you
can’t you see me trying to care
trying to lift myself up
from where I’ve fallen

I have no tears left to spill
and that’s the last time I’ll tell you
why can’t you see how dry
these tired eyes are?

I’ll try to find some peace tonight
staring up from where I still lie
but from here
the stars look cold too

I have no strength left to give to you
no encouraging words left to say
I tried so hard to help you
when I couldn’t even help myself

snow is drifting down on me,
the world is passing me by
because I tripped and fell
for the last time

build a wall around me
enclose me in a living tomb
put me on display so everyone can see
the girl who couldn’t rise with the fallen

If I could fall asleep tonight
you know I’d dream of you
and wake up wondering
why my heart is so cold

It always seems that we understand each other's poems rather well. Unfortunately for me, this is another one I can apply to myself, as well. There are so many people in my life that I'd love to tell that two; those two lines with so much meaning. And I too have a bad habit of looking for your name in the forums, because I love your poetry. Yet another example of the greatness to which I aspire, this. Still, I think you'll find your way back up. You seem to strong to stay down long. You just have to remember that. 'Till Next Time.

Wow, this hit hard for me. I also
liked the part about the stars
looking cold too. Great images.
