just us; invincible and unstoppable

i imagine your heartbeat beating against
my hand at night when the shadows make
me the person i want to be for you.

and this melody could continue on forever,
i could tell you my dreams for the stars,
while playing acoustic guitar. the only song
i wrote for love.

the real me will tell you that she secretly
loves you when no one else is watching. a
steady hand will envelope yours, even though
her heart is shaking.

the moon will sigh, a sign that says it’s
okay to go and dance.even though everyone
knows our rhythm will be off.

maybe i’ll be able to understand more clearly
when the photographs come around again.
passing through like a december breeze of
snowflakes.

i’m sure your smile will reveal all i need to
know.

remember to breathe after you exhale.
