I found I only wanted the crust off my pizza, so that's all I ate, you know? I found myself standing in front of you, but you were off in another world. I found myself on the brink of all the dream lands, I had created ...not able to enter them anymore, because my brain had matured too much. And I had lost the genius of childhood, to a man wearing strictly black except for his brown shoes. Because he figured they would never appear dirty, since he was outdoors so often. People that steal things, often think that way. This man, didn't really steal my genius. And neither did the grimmy, sticking hands on the clock. If anything, I lost it. Left it in the bathtub of the apartment I lived when I was five, or behind the unworn jakets hanging in the hall closet. It could be anywhere. I found myself in a boy with blue eyes, he found himself afraid. We found our way apart. And now I'm told to play the game. Along with the things I've lost, I've lost my game pieces too. All but the black one which doesn't do me much good. All the actions it takes, prove evil in outcome. The rest of the colors, were taken from me while I was eating my mac and cheese and watching cartoons. |
