Far from where I am going

(alright this isn't the best poem i've written but it meant something to me. comments are appreciated.)

Return to Innocence

I want to travel back
or at least thrown back
to grade six
when nothing was as it is now
yet somehow the kids were alright
i want to return to the time
before there were social classes among classes
i want to return to when i was shorter
so as to look people in the eye
rather than down on them
i want to return to a time
when holding hands was risque
and a kiss was a score
i want to be back before
men became sex addicts, wife beaters, and womanizers
and before
women became gold diggers and whores
i want to return to a time
when a secret meant a secret and nothing more
i want to return to a time
when it was uncomon for a child to mother a child
i want to return to grade six
i want to get back to simple innocence

i applaud you because you made this a
perfect yet simple piece explaining
how much easier life was when we
were younger.

you...if only we could go back.
