it was warm that she can remember her feet were always bare but she didn't mind it reminded her what it felt like to let down her hair and run as fast as she could down the bank to the water looking back every so often to see if he had caught up he always did she always let him laughter now she can hear it his words so clever too much to take she'd allow her self to roll about on the beach her hair a wet magnet stiff with sand she'd have to go in the water to wash it out splash, she'd dive in swimming flawlessly like shes made for the ocean no need to come up for air theres a tug at her ankle a steady hand wrapping around defensively and she'd surface to the look on his face terror, relief but she'd only smile and pull him under it was warm that she can remember as they lay on the beach holding hands looking up at the sky silently conversing she remembers it was stuff of dreams stuff you can only look back and remember can you find me space inside your bleeding heart? |
