Like in slow motion, My eyeball tears away from my socket, Leaving me blind, To black and white static, I see the reverberating of the iris, Like I am on the outside of my body, Looking in, Like on fast forward, My legs crumble and I fall, Leaving me disabled, Too helpless, I see the working of my joints, On the bitumen before me, Where the yellow bricks can’t be followed, Like pressing rewind, I come back together again, Leaving me struck dumb, To a hallucination, And I see all the walls stand around me, Suffocatingly, But holding me together like tar, You are there to protect me, From self-destruction.
