The crevasses forming before me, The waterfalls overflowing, Cascading down pale mountains, Only to reach the bottom, And be dismissed, as a raindrop, Falling from the sky, blue as ever, Never to be known individually, Or understood. Never having a purpose, Falling from heaven, It was a long road here, With many stops so you could, Wait until the waves of nausea dissolved, Passing from hunger to stillness, But you are here, And I am happy. Even though your tears are for the sacrifice you made, To join me in this beauteous hell, Where it was not so beauteous, Until you arrived, And the clouds passed to reveal sunlight, The light at the end of the tunnel. For me it was you, And for you I can only hope it was me. (Author's Note: The title of this poem is thanks to the CD, Distance to Here, by Live.) "Why are my visions so unliving with dreams? And why do I no longer care?" - Stygian |
