Unwilling to trust My world is filled with happy faces, hungered wants and empty eyes. Wills to pass on, material goods to satisfy. Desires to be, all that one can be, And a door to a world, no one wants to see. Rain is pounding at my door - I can't let it in. Sorrow is seeping through the cracks in the floor, And desperation is hiding in the corner. Trust is knocking at my door - I can't let it in. I used to want to fly away - to soar away From my many bad days. I used to need a hand to hold And a reassuring touch to ease my soul. Thunder is ready to break down my door - I can't let it in. Guilt is seeping through the cracks in the floor, And shame is hiding in the corner. Trust is knocking at my door - I can't let it in. My reality is unreal is this overgrown place, Lies lead to hurt and an angered face. Wishes to obtain, to grasp the stars, And a slumber party behind these bars. Lightening is striking at my door - I can't let it in. Hurt is seeping through the cracks in the floor, And pain is hiding in the corner. Trust is knocking at my door - I can't let it in. "Love takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within." |
