It's a cold winter in my heart, I feel another storm coming my way— A gathering of clouds: shades of murky gray. Seldom do the sun and the moon break through the haze— The days are growing darker. Sleepless are the nights that greet me at days end, And all about the wastelands: a dead calm. A bitter chill wraps around my heart again— The flurry within begins to fall. The nights are growing colder. My strength of character is deteriorating— The driving force I once had has altogether vanished, And the radiance I once knew is alas fading— For my spirit to return is all that I wish. My will is growing weary. The gloom that has filled the center in me; The long winter that has ruled my being these many years— It's difficult to conceive spring melting the frost away, And thawing out these choked up tears. All I want is a crying shoulder. We see much, observe little, and perceive less. |

I came to read more of your works. Something about the echo that reminds me of someone... There is a depth to this that is genuine and introspective. Well written. Cheer up...summer suns always melt the chill. TD |
